The ColorMaster is designed to make icing colors easier, faster, and more repeatable. However, some colors are naturally harder to match than others. Even when the correct supported dyes are used, the ColorMaster may have more difficulty with certain shades, especially purples and deep reds. These colors are sensitive because small changes in dye strength, icing base color, mixing time, or color development can noticeably shift the final result. A purple may lean too blue, too red, or look slightly dull. A deep red may look too pink, too orange, too dark, or may need extra time to fully develop. The ColorMaster formulas are calibrated to get as close as possible, but food coloring is not always perfectly predictable. Dye batches, icing type, starting icing color, and how long the color sits after mixing can all affect the final shade. For best results: • Use only the supported dye brand and colors. • Make sure each dye is in the correct reservoir. • Check the dye color before pouring into the machine. • Prime the pumps before use. • Mix the icing thoroughly after dispensing. • Allow deep reds and purples time to develop before judging the final color. If your ColorMaster does not match a purple or deep red perfectly, it does not always mean the machine is dispensing incorrectly. These are known challenging color areas, and slight variation may happen even when the machine is working properly.

The ColorMaster was designed to be practical, reliable, and accessible for everyday bakers. During development, we explored both metal and plastic exterior options, but the final launch version uses a durable plastic exterior. The reason is simple: manufacturing the ColorMaster in metal at this stage is much more difficult, slower, and more expensive. Metal manufacturing requires more complex tooling, longer production timelines, and tighter supplier coordination. For a new product launch, those challenges can create delays, higher costs, and less flexibility if small improvements need to be made. Using a plastic exterior allows us to produce the ColorMaster more efficiently while still protecting the internal components and keeping the machine functional for regular kitchen use. Plastic also gives us more flexibility during this launch stage. It allows us to make small design improvements faster, keep production moving, and avoid unnecessary delays for customers waiting on their machines. The important internal parts of the ColorMaster remain the focus. The machine is built to dispense dye accurately, support repeatable color mixing, and make icing color creation easier. The exterior material does not change the purpose of the machine or how it works. We know some customers may have expected metal, and we understand that. Our goal is to be transparent about why this decision was made. At this stage, plastic is the best choice to help us launch the ColorMaster responsibly, keep manufacturing realistic, and get machines into customers' hands sooner. We know the ColorMaster launch has taken longer than many customers expected, and we truly appreciate your patience. The simple answer is that several major challenges happened during development and manufacturing. Some were expected parts of building a new product, and others were outside of our control. Manufacturing a New Product Takes Time The ColorMaster is not a simple off-the-shelf product. It has custom parts, electronics, pumps, tubing, an app connection, dye reservoirs, and a dispensing system that all need to work together. During manufacturing, we had to make changes, test parts, improve the design, and make sure the machine could be built consistently. Every change takes time, especially when parts need to be remade, tested, or adjusted before moving forward. Tariffs and Supply Costs Changed Tariffs and changing import costs also affected the process. Parts, materials, and manufacturing costs became more expensive and harder to plan around. When costs change during production, it can slow things down while we work through suppliers, pricing, and the best way to keep the product moving without sacrificing quality. Food Dye Changes Created Extra Challenges Food dye availability and regulation changes also affected the ColorMaster. Since the machine depends on specific supported dye colors, any changes to dye availability, ingredients, or color behavior matter. The ColorMaster has to be calibrated around dyes that customers can actually use and purchase. When dye options change, it can affect testing, color matching, formulas, and launch planning. Color Matching Needed More Testing One of the most important parts of the ColorMaster is repeatable color mixing. That meant we had to test, adjust, and improve the formulas instead of rushing the machine out too early. Some colors are easier to match than others. Purples and deep reds, for example, are known to be more difficult. We wanted to be honest about those limits while still making the machine as useful and reliable as possible. We Chose to Fix Problems Instead of Shipping Too Soon The delays were frustrating, but they happened because we chose to keep improving the ColorMaster instead of sending out a product that was not ready. That meant working through manufacturing issues, part changes, dye changes, color testing, software updates, and setup improvements before final launch. The ColorMaster took longer than expected because we were building something new, solving real manufacturing problems, and adapting to changes that affected the product along the way.
